summit lake TRAILHEAD
This trailhead on the Mount Blue Sky road provides access to the Chicago Lakes Trail, Summit Flats Trail, and Mount Blue Sky Ridge Trail. Parking is in Denver Mountain Park’s Summit Lake parking lot.
Directions
Follow the directions to the Echo Lake Trailhead above, but instead of turning left just before the Mount Blue Sky entrance, continue through the fee station and up the road 9 miles to the Summit Lake parking lot. To reach the Summit Flats trail, hike east a short distance along the Mount Blue Sky road from the parking lot to a sign marking the start of the trail. To reach the Mount Blue Sky Ridge and Chicago Lakes trails, hike north to the Chicago Lakes overlook. From there, go west on the Mount Blue Sky Ridge Trail or east on the Chicago Lakes Trail.
